First aid is the initial care of a sick or injured person.  If you provide first aid care before emergency services or medical aid arrives you can save lives.

Providing first aid care can also prevent injuries and illnesses from becoming any worse as well as providing comfort and reassurance to a casualty.

Course Overview

This course is based on the unit of competency HLTAID003 Provide first aid which is recognised Australia wide.

First aid is the initial care of a sick or injured person.

First aid can save lives in the critical time before emergency services or medical help arrives.

Aims of first aid:

  • Preserve life
  • Protect the unconscious person
  • Prevent further injury
  • Promote recovery

Course outline:

Part 1 – Online theory
Part 2 – Practical assessment

  • There is an online quiz that you must complete. You will be provided with login details to the quiz once you have made payment for the course.
  • We suggest completing your online quiz prior to attending the practical assessment.
  • A first aid certificate will only be issued once you have successfully completed both the online quiz and practical assessment.
  • Must bring photo ID with you to training.
  • It is recommended that your refresh your first aid training every three (3) years and your CPR training every 12 months.

A USI – Unique Student Identifier is a reference number that you can easily create an online which keeps a record of your training and qualifications attained in Australia.

If you are commencing a nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment.

Your USI is made up of ten numbers and letters.
